DoomStop

Privacy Policy

DoomStop does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

Overview

DoomStop is a screen-time management app that lets you voluntarily block distracting apps on your own iPhone and unlock them by tapping an NFC tag or via a set schedule. This privacy policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.

Data We Collect

We collect no personal data. DoomStop does not:

Data Stored on Your Device

DoomStop stores the following data locally on your device only:

This data is shared locally between the main app and its system extensions (Screen Time monitor, shield configuration) using Apple's App Groups mechanism. It never leaves your device.

Screen Time API (FamilyControls)

DoomStop uses Apple's FamilyControls and Screen Time frameworks to block apps you choose. This is a self-imposed, voluntary restriction — DoomStop is not a parental control app. Apple's frameworks handle app blocking at the system level. DoomStop does not have access to which apps you use, your usage statistics, or any data from blocked apps.

NFC

DoomStop uses your iPhone's NFC reader solely to read the UID (unique identifier) of an NFC tag you physically tap. This UID is stored locally on your device and is used only to verify that the correct tag was tapped during an unlock attempt. No NFC scan data is transmitted or shared.

Third-Party Services

DoomStop uses no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or cloud services.

Children's Privacy

DoomStop does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. As no data is collected at all, there is nothing to disclose under children's privacy regulations.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
